摘要: An optical-optical double resonance sub-Doppler experiment is used to measure short nonradiative lifetimes in the C 1Σ+ state of LiH. These are expected result from strong electronic interaction between and continuum A 1Σ+ vary with vibrational quantum number, nanoseconds milliseconds [F. Gemperle F. X. Gadea, J. Chem. Phys. 110, 11197 (1999)]. The experimental setup combines a molecular beam LiH, first cw laser locked given A-X absorption line, second scanned over C-A profiles. Analysis these profiles terms Voigt shows that their Lorentzian components significantly numbers C state. Nonradiative decay rates deduced this way systematically larger than calculated ones but variations similar. Coherent saturation effects cannot be invoked explain discrepancy.
