An overview of approaches for content-based medical image retrieval

摘要: Medical imaging performs a vital role in the medical field as it provides important information on internal body parts for clinical analysis and intervention which enables physicians to diagnose treat variety of diseases. Nowadays diagnosis is increasing at very high rate, results formation huge image database, retrieving similar images from such database difficult task. A literature review various methods biomedical indexing retrieval presented here. Over 140 contributions are included this survey. And mainly concentrated methodology based visual representation content-based (CBMIR) approaches retrieve more efficiently compared text-based approaches. It also delineates how ideas were adopted different computer science methodologies developing CBMIR systems.
