摘要: The Triple Helix (TH) model is an analysis framework in which universities act as key drivers of regional innovation development knowledge-based societies. TH describes interactions between three actors—university, industry, and government. Most empirical studies have addressed the role universities, choosing to adopt a macro perspective rather than firm perspective. Thanks model’s theoretical potential, using greatly contributed our understanding dynamics among these actors. Nevertheless, this still contains gaps such determining value practical implications firms model. This research challenges literature’s traditional emphasis on university main driver by addressing following question: Is really innovation, or does each helices play at some stage process? Hence, study examines applicability when exploring business creation, growth, firms’ contribution development. also explores with governments European, national, levels. Specifically, exploratory case Abengoa, multinational leader renewable energy specializing innovative, sustainable biotechnology biochemistry solutions.
