摘要: Chlamydia pneumoniae is an intracellular bacterium which commonly causes respiratory infections. Chronic infections have been associated with atherosclerosis and the organism has detected in macrophages disease lesions. Growth of chlamydiae different epithelial cell lines restricted by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), a monocyte activator produced T cells. We studied influence IFN-γ on growth infectivity C. HL-cells human monocyte-derived macrophages. Low concentrations cytokine significantly productivity cells vitro. In macrophages, however, no effect bacteria infected was found, but high doses clearly production infectious progeny. The results suggest that participates resistance to pneumoniae. is, still capable infecting are important pathogenesis it may thus participate inflammatory process disease.
