摘要: Recent studies on the humoral immune response to Trypanosoma cruzi have shown that antibodies which are able bind living parasites and lyse them in conjunction with complement associated host protection. Antibodies support complement-mediated lysis (CML) of trypomastigotes elicited as a result an active infection not after immunization killed parasites. In spite requirement for antibodies, proceeds mainly via alternative pathway. We purified 160-kilodalton (kDa) glycoprotein from T. metacyclic appears be specific target lytic antibodies. Rabbit antiserum 160-kDa protein was prepared, we determined these will CML tissue-culture-derived trypomastigotes. The percentage killing (65 70%) consistent among three different strains tested. order examine specificity antibody-dependent CML, neuraminidase, unrelated trypomastigote membrane glycoprotein, were tested assays found lytic. Viable bound anti-160-kDa uniformly demonstrated by immunofluorescence, whereas antineuraminidase extensively capped. is specifically produced infectious (tissue culture derived metacyclic) detected epimastigotes or amastigotes. identification well its expression only stage parasite, suggests important role this eliciting immunity.
