摘要: Cutting tools are disclosed which comprised of composite bodies comprising a ceramic matrix reinforced by whiskers. The may be alumina or silicon nitride, and contain toughening components. whiskers preferably carbide, but other known Whisker content in the is 2-40%, with higher contents generally used for when expected service involves interrupted cutting lower continuous tools.
