摘要: Background: The night-time sleep of patients hospitalized in intensive care is a very important feature within the health or disease process, as it has direct repercussion on their adequate recovery. Aims and objectives: (1) To describe how surgical perceive unit; (2) to compare subjective perception with nursing records analyse these for degree agreement. Design: Descriptive research. Methods: One hundred four were recruited study. Patients completed Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire, five-item visual analogue scale, subjectively measure perceived level (range 0–100 mm). observation patient by nurses, demographic data, during night use specific pharmacological treatments also collected from records. Results: total mean score first post-operative was 5142 mm, 28% had good sleep, 46% regular 26% bad sleep. profile been characterized having light frequent awakening generally little difficulty go back after awakenings. agreement between nurses’ perceptions patients’ tested means one-factor analysis variance (p <0 05) variation coefficient 3688%, which indicates that relative obtained. From analysing every nursepatient perception, we obtained 44% 56% disagreement. When discrepancy found, nurse overestimated perception. Conclusions: Surgical ICU suggest this inadequate. Nurses’ partially coincides latter’s but have found former frequently overestimate
