摘要: • Management of dysosmic patients frequently is hampered by an incomplete description their chief complaint and sometimes inadequate qualitative analysis symptoms. Qualitative olfactory dysfunction Odorant Confusion Matrix helps to characterize more fully sense smell in the patient. It well grounded psychophysical theory, thereby permitting physiological inferences about specific neural dysfunctions. The quantitative measure derived from matrix correlates with another ability, Smell Identification Test, provides opportunity for valid comparisons among within patients. Examination illustrative case reports demonstrates that features offer additional insights support etiologic diagnoses disturbances smell. ( Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg 1987;113:163-168)
