摘要: BACKGROUND: The distribution of C282Y and H63D variants the HFE gene was determined in donors with evidence phenotypical hemochromatosis. ferritin level effect a donation on iron status different genotypes were studied. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: Forty women 107 men hemochromatosis compared to wild-type donors. influence blood assessed by change between two consecutive donations. RESULTS: In men, 85 59%, respectively, homozygote. None had alleles. There no significant difference history or genotypes. Donation frequencies were, 3.3 3.7 per year for men. significantly higher hemochromatosis, while it similar respective wild types. negative hemochromatotic women, less vulnerable than genetically men. CONCLUSION: Subjects are valuable as independent their genotype. general, tended be those male
