The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD): Opportunities and Challenges

摘要: This paper reviews major issues involved in achieving the objectives of New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD). Using a simple framework evaluation, analysis highlights considerations relevant to policymakers areas poverty reduction, macroeconomic policies, trade promotion, attracting capital flows, and governance institutional reforms. The also identifies risks NEPAD's objectives. To minimize these risks, it will be important make some goals more operational, further broaden deepen stakeholder participation, establish sound basis monitoring progress, prepare contingency plans, harmonize role regional institutions with NEPAD initiatives.
