摘要: This work reports a finite element analysis (FEA) model study of the stator current spectra commercial permanent magnet (PM) AC machine operating with rotor PM demagnetisation faults. A range uniform and local fault scenarios at different severity conditions are examined. The aim this is to investigate extent which modes could be distinguished by inspecting spectral signature patterns these generate in signal. To end, generalised mathematical characterisation examined 2D FEA software used establish studied design. was employed predict signal These then correlated those arising from derived expressions examine whether predicted expected trends agreement their observation as potential provide diagnostic information.
