摘要: AbstractIn 1968, G. S. Krantz proposed a method for estimating the original number of animals deposited at an archaeological site when bone counts have been reduced, whether by attritional processes or failure to find all bones. His formula involved using unmatched left, right, and matched pairs class paired bone. In this paper we investigate estimators derived Krantz's assumptions from both theoretical practical viewpoints make recommendations; example, that are useful only in relatively large assemblages. The is applied fish bones obtained three sites New Zealand, difficulties with procedure described.
