摘要: The Magellan Telescopes are a collaboration between the Observatories of Carnegie Institution Washington (OCIW), University Arizona, Harvard University, Michigan, and Massachusetts Institute Technology (MIT) consisting two 6.5 meter telescopes located at Las Campanas Observatory, in Chilean Andes. Walter Baade telescope achieved first light September 2000 Landon Clay started science operations 2002. In addition to modified spectroscopic instruments, Boller Chivens Spectrograph Low Dispersion Survey (LDSS-2), four generation instruments now deployed Telescopes. Here we briefly describe performance MagIC - direct imaging CCD camera, MIKE double echelle spectrograph, PANIC near-IR imager, IMACS multi-purpose, multi-object spectrograph.
