摘要: OBJECTIVE Multiple biliary hamartomas (MBHs) are rare benign malformations of the intrahepatic bile ducts. There only a handful clinical studies based on large populations incidence MBHs. MATERIALS AND METHODS A series 1697 consecutive liver needle biopsies was examined for occurrence RESULTS total six patients (0.35%, four men and two women, 2 : 1 ratio) were confirmed by histology to have Of patients, 59 (3.5%) younger than 18 years age, 828 (48.8%) between 38 810 (47.7%) older age. MBHs one 17 age other five 39 The median (range) 42 (17-63) years. Although nearly half biopsied no MBH found in this group. All diagnosed with fibrosis/cirrhosis initial ultrasound scanning; however, cirrhosis histological examination. those cirrhosis, had concomitant congenital hepatic fibrosis cirrhotic hepatitis B. latter patient developed hepatocellular carcinoma year after biopsy. No kidney cysts any patients. MRI scanning performed results consistent diagnosis. CONCLUSION not common who undergo biopsy and, study, higher
