摘要: Consolidation theory assumes that as time passes, some memories are strengthened and become resistant to change while other weakened forgotten. Recent demonstrations implicit, or procedural, retrieved more efficiently after learning retention consistent with the idea these particular memory traces have time, therefore may be accessed faster. However, it is not clear whether process of explicit retrieval also becomes efficient time. In two experiments, we explored 1) how much required for separate implicit components hippocampal-dependent visuomotor associative variable intervals, 2) processing times when associations rehearsed initial retrieval. We found retention, diverged: taken retrieve successfully component increased relative a pre-retention baseline but, spaced rehearsal, decreased, although level significantly below obtained at end learning, continued gradually decrease reached baseline. conclude observed divergence in post-retention reaction suggests systems reorganize differently consequence, different amounts components.
