摘要: A case study is presented of a problem-solving exercise with UK police officers who experienced psychological problems after their duties in connection the Bradford fire disaster May 11 1985. It argued that they typify ‘forgotten victims’ disasters: official helpers one kind or another whose experiences may lead to significant disturbance. Out 399 had been involved fire, 234 (59 per cent) completed screening questionnaire and 34 attended series confidential counselling sessions. Their specific included performance guilt, reconstruction anxiety, generalized irritability, focused resentment motivational changes. Treatment interventions were tailored these problems. second administration three weeks counselling, follow-up approximately nine months disaster, indicated satisfactory level recovery officers.
