摘要: There is growing interest among both private and public sectors to serve the underserved in emerging or developing countries leading to, what we call market for frugal innovation. This paper divided into two parts. First, discuss rhetoric surrounding innovation attempt understand discourse it as fad, fashion, fit. Second, seek map emergence of this by suggesting drivers making a social movement involving different actors pursuing contentious complementary approaches achieve same outcome, i.e. one creating value populations. An understanding how has emerged will be useful opening research agenda. Consequently cover opportunities challenges growth well draw implications academic theory practice.
