摘要: In this work, stable blue-green luminescent colloidal silicon nanocrystals (SiNCs) are fabricated by nanosecond pulsed laser ablation of a target in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis have shown the formation spherical colloid with size range 2-5 nm. Our results show that DMSO stabilizes via oxide formations on nanocrytals surfaces simple route schematic representation process is suggested. The exhibits strong blue emissions spectral 455-465 nm when excited at wavelengths near direct band gap nanocrystal. emission shifts to longer (green light) if excitation wavelength increases toward indirect SiNCs. oxidized SiNCs quantum confinement effects be responsible for visible photoluminescence colloid. observed makes it good candidate display, solid-state lighting biological based devices.
