Registros de ocurrencia del oso andino (Tremarctos ornatus Cuvier, 1825) en sus límites de distribución nororiental y austral

摘要: Occurrence of the Andean bear (Tremarctos ornatus Cuvier, 1825) in its north eastern and southern limit distribution. The knowledge bear’s ornatus) distribution is fundamental for evaluating status species development conservation measures such as declaration new areas or implementation management measures. This study aimed perform some field assessments between years 2007 2008, limits species’ range, using method tracking mountain ridges to obtain first hand data on presence / absence these areas. We have obtained 101 current records species, including central-western Venezuela northwest tip Argentina. Finally, we discuss biogeographic implications reported data.
