Nitric oxide synthase inhibitor suppresses the ototoxic side effect of cisplatin in guinea pigs.

摘要: Cisplatin is known to cause inner ear damage (ototoxicity). The role of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in the cochlea guinea pigs after injections cisplatin or a combination and NOS inhibitor (NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester, L-NAME) i.p. was examined electro-and immunohistochemically. auditory brain stem responses (ABR) were measured prior injection 3 days injection. Three injection, cochleas immunohistochemically for iNOS. We found that iNOS expressed cisplatin- L-NAME/ cisplatin-treated cochlea. threshold shift ABR significant group, whereas it decreased L-NAME/cisplatin group. catalyzed high NO levels lead dysfunction. Our results indicate mediates ototoxicity cisplatin.
