摘要: Iodinated polyurethane (IPU) sponges were prepared by immersing in aqueous/organic solutions of iodine or exposing to vapors. Iodine was readily adsorbed into the polymers up 100% (w/w). The adsorption on surface characterized XPS and SEM analyses. loaded IPU coated with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), order release a controlled rate for water decontamination combined active carbon cartridge, which adsorbs residues after microbial inactivation. EVA incorporated purifier tested inactivation efficiency according WQA certification program against P231/EPA 250l, using 25l day flow 6-8min/1l. antimicrobial activity also studied Escherichia coli MS2 phage. Bacterial results exceeded minimal requirement bacterial removal 6log reduction throughout entire lifespan. At any testing point, no bacteria detected outlet achieving more than 7.1 8log as calculated upon inlet concentration. Virus surrogate, MS2, varied from 4.11log under tap water, 5.11log basic (pH9) 1.32 acidic (pH5). Controlled stable observed effective deactivating virus present contaminated thus, these iodinated PU systems could be used purification provide safe drinking water. These may find applications disinfectants medicine.
