摘要: Doppler data generated with the Galileo spacecraft9s radio carrier wave were used to measure Io9s external gravitational field. The resulting triaxial field is consistent assumption that Io in tidal and rotational equilibrium. inescapable conclusion it has a large metallic core. If core eutectic mixture of iron sulfide, comprises 20.2 ± 7.4 percent satellite9s total mass radius about 52 mean 1821.3 kilometers; if pure iron, 10.5 3.7 36 radius.
