High sensitivity of dual resonant peaks of long-period fibre grating to surrounding refractive index changes

摘要: The spectral response of the dual resonant peaks a 100 /spl mu/m period fibre grating to surrounding refractive index (SRI) from n=1 1.74 has been investigated. two were found shift in opposite directions over -180 and +300 nm, respectively, as SRI changed. A novel chemical sensing scheme with enhanced sensitivity based on measurement separation instead single peak is also presented.
