摘要: Abstract This chapter introduces the opportunities for designing and developing coastal reservoirs urban regeneration renewable energy generation. The case using such applications is first presented, followed by an outline of governing equations modelling approaches used in planning reservoirs. Two studies are then considered, including Cardiff Bay Barrage project West Somerset Lagoon proposal. For Bay, a barrage was constructed across mouth bay, creating reservoir, reconnecting estuarine waterfront with Cardiff, capital Wales. completed 2000, reservoir has been highly successful regenerating region. project, it proposed to build large lagoon (or coastally attached reservoir) Bristol Channel create tidal energy. Modelling design considerations reported range scheme, aim focusing on lagoon's impact retention times inside basin.
