摘要: Abstract Aims: to identify and describe the clustering of characteristics related running amongst Brazilian runners using latent class analysis verify if there is a profile associated with better performance. Material Methods: sample 1149 answered an online questionnaire, that provided information about biological (sex, age, height, weight), training (running pace, frequency volume/week, motivation), socioeconomic factors, as well multidimensional questionnaire fear failure. Latent Class Analysis was used subgroups runners, based on BMI, volume frequency/week, motivation, Further, χ2 test computed statistical differences in descriptive variables between classes. Finally, binary logistic regression estimated factors performance, pace dependent variable. Results: It possible two different classes among which were called “amateur runners” “recreational runners”. Variables highlighted classes’ were: training/week, motivation for practice, BMI. Regarding showed men (OR=5.39; 95%CI=4.00-7.25), young (OR=0.38; 95%CI=0.28-0.51), (OR=4.19; 95%CI=2.95-5.94) more prone have higher Conclusion: Two distinct found linked their highlighting even non-professional can be observed regarding classification. Hence, future studies should consider these properly stratify or runners.
