摘要: Abstract Interstitial pneumonia is one of the most frequently encountered clinical conditions as an adverse effect caused by peplomycin (PEP). We report our experience interstitial case induced PEP administration at relatively low dosage (27.5 mg) for lower gingival carcinoma. A 78-year-old male. The patient was diagnosed carcinoma right gingiva (T2N0M0). For course treatment, a total 27.5 mg administered intramuscularly in 6 doses preoperative chemotherapy from February 2013. developed fever over 38 degrees 2 days before surgery. As result chest X-ray, mild diffuse change observed both lung fields; therefore, antimicrobial drug after consultation with Department Respiratory Medicine. In X-ray conducted reevaluation 16 initiation administration, ground-glass pattern fields became worse, and drug-induced pneumonia. Steroid therapy started same day. less severe CT obtained 26 steroid therapy. Radiotherapy instead, tumor completely disappeared irradiation 80 Gy, currently under follow-up. Mechanisms underlying toxicity remains incompletely understood; it considered that adequate attention would be required to development even if dose were not high.
