摘要: Abstract An approximately 90 m thick sequence has been studied in the Colle Curti basin (Colfiorito area, Umbria-Marchean Apennine). It was deposited a drainage system characterized by ‘mature’ landscape without clear watershed separating Adriatic and Tyrrhenian sides. Close to end of Early Pleistocene this dismembered activation extensional faults, linked an uplifting chain that reached its greatest magnitude at beginning Middle Pleistocene. From sedimentological point view can be roughly divided into three parts, with gravel deposition braidplain environment dominating lower upper phase clay lacustrine these. Ar/Ar analysis on sanidine contained vertisol part gave age not older than 427 ka. early Galerian fauna collected layers where Jaramillo paleomagnetic event recognized. Cold periods are documented sequence, although latter intense weathering caused development soil tropical features precludes further investigations. The palynological data supported palaeomagnetic evidence indicate related large Bavelian Menapian. In middle part, outcrop, two cool humid phases followed colder drier periods. Biological geological suggests around 1 My probably located elevation about 600 m.
