摘要: The China-US Million Book Digital Library Project (Million Project) is an international cooperation program between China and the US. However, one million digitized books are considered not to be ultimate goal of project, but a first step towards universal access human knowledge. In particular, there four challenges about new way analyze, process, operate, visualize interact with digital media resource in this library. To tackle these challenges, North Centre (in Chinese Academy Sciences) has initiated several innovative research projects areas such as multimedia content analysis retrieval, bilingual services, multimodal information presentation, knowledge-based organization services. keynote speech, we simply review our work areas, argue that by technological innovation topics, project will develop top-level library platform for book
