摘要: Arsenic and heavy metals leached out as a result of oxidation tailings exposed to the surface pose serious environmental contamination mine areas. This study investigated how arsenic behavior is controlled by variety processes, such sulfides formation or alteration secondary minerals, based on mineralogical methods. The was carried using tailing samples obtained from Nakdong located in Jeongseongun, Gangwondo. After separating magnetic non-magnetic minerals pretreated samples, each mineral sample classified according their colors metallic lusters observed stereoscopic microscope. Subsequently, properties were determined various instrumental analyses, x-ray diffractometer (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA). literature review confirmed that ore identified deposits. In this study, however, there few original well and/or tertiary newly formed weathering including oxidation. particular, we did not recognize pyrrhotite which has been known originally exist large abundance, but peculiarly colloform-type iron (oxy)hydroxides identified, indicates most altered rapid due its reactivity. addition, scorodites filling fissure weathered primary arsenopyrites it speculated immobilized through reaction. Also, re-alteration jarosites, suggests environment changed high pH low condition initiated developed reactions diverse minerals. change mainly attributed interactions between parental rocks around mine. As result, only stability declined, formed. process goes through, likely re-dissolve disperse into surrounding environments.
