摘要: Theoretical arguments are presented which indicate that it should be possible to grow aligned off-eutectic composites from stirred melts. To obtain growth in an alloy of given composition, the convective mixing must less than a critical amount. An open system is proposed would much better suited production constant composition composites. The offers advantage enabling higher temperature gradients maintained order stabilize planar eutectic interface at compositions.
