摘要: Honey bees utilise floral food sources that vary temporally in their relative and absolute quality. Via a sophisticated colony organisation, honey bee allocates its foragers such the focuses on most profitable forage sites while keeping track of changes within foraging environment. One important mechanism allocation is ability experienced to revisit past-profitable after period temporary dearth caused by, for example, inclement weather. The scent brought back by other sufficient reactivate these foragers. Here I determine how long react site. show location source diminishes rapidly over 10 days, until no forager reacts cue (scent). discuss implications findings with respect colony’s changing conditions.
