摘要: During non-equilibrium processes metastable phases are formed instead of stable due to the operation various kinetic or structural constraints. By removing most effective nucleation sites for phase using emulsified droplet samples, formation can be prohibited in a broad range undercooling and space available regime mapped out. With this method thermodynamic properties undercooled liquid boundaries corresponding reversible (solid + liquid) equilibria examined from experimental data. The analysis reveals important implications kinetics choice kinetically favored solidification path.
