Dried blood spots (DBS): a valuable tool for HIV surveillance in developing/tropical countries.

摘要: Dried blood spots (DBS) on filter paper have been used as a practical method of sample collection in sero-surveillance studies numerous diseases. DBS may be particularly useful for HIV screening remote areas, which unrefrigerated transfer time to laboratory take number days. In this study, we evaluate the ability detect human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type-1 antibodies from that subjected tropical climate southern India 6 were prepared samples 59 known HIV-positive individuals and 30 HIV-negative individuals.
