摘要: I review the empirical comparative law literature with an emphasis on quantitative work. After situating field and surveying its main applications to date, turn methodological issues. discuss at length obstacles causal inference from data, caution against inappropriate use of instrumental variables other techniques. Even if data cannot identify any single theory, however, they are extremely important in narrowing down set plausible theories. report progress measurement design suggest improvements analysis interpretation using techniques fields, particularly growth econometrics.
