摘要: Publisher Summary An important class of calcium-binding proteins present in retinal photoreceptor cells includes recoverin from mammalian rods, guanylate cyclase-activating (GCAP-1, GCAP-2, and GCAP-3) rods cones, cyclase inhibitory protein (GCIP) frog rods. The branch the EF-hand superfamily neuronal Ca 2+ sensors such as neurocalcin, frequenin, hippocalcin. Mass spectrometric analysis GCAP revealed that they are myristoylated at amino terminus. GCAP-2 exhibits different membrane-targeting properties those recoverin. unmyristoylated forms bind to membranes low concentrations ( 50 mM NaCl).This chapter presents a detailed structural GCAP-2. -induced changes these for elucidating their mechanisms understanding molecular mechanism -sensitive regulation phototransduction.
