摘要: A preliminary study of the Ecuadorian Amazon basin phlebotomine sand fly (Diptera:Psychodidae:Phlebotominae) at three collection sites (Tiputini, Yasuni and Mondana) revealed presence morphological variation in male genitalia Lutzomyia geniculata (Barreto, 1962). According to size shape coxite, specimens were separated into two groups: thick thin coxite males. Experiments conducted elucidate whether these differences corresponded intra or interspecific variation. Specimens from both groups examined for morphometric results statistically analyzed using parametric non-parametric tools. Furthermore, fragments mitochondrial small subunit (12SrRNA) ribosomal cytochrome b genes phylogenetically analized.
