摘要: Abstract Objective Several studies have assessed the effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) on arterial stiffness and wave reflections as measured by pulse velocity (PWV) augmentation index (AIx), respectively. We conducted a meta-analysis to investigate this in comparison placebo other antihypertensive agents. Additionally, we investigated when ACEIs are combined with agents combination Methods MEDLINE, EMBASE Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) were searched from inception May 2011 randomised controlled trials (RCTs) which vs. or no treatment receptor blockers (ARBs), calcium channel (CCBs), β-blockers diuretics. RCTs antihypertensives compared also sought. Data included pooled use fixed random effects weighted mean change differences between comparator groups. Heterogeneity across was I 2 statistic. Results In 5 including 469 patients, ( n =227) =216) significantly reduced PWV (pooled difference −1.69, 95% C.I. −2.05, −1.33, p =178) insignificantly (ARBs, CCBs, β-blockers, diuretics ACEI ARB) =220) −0.19, −0.59, 0.21, =0.36, =0%). AIx 7 trials. Treatment −3.79, −5.96, −1.63, =0.0006) significant heterogeneity. trials, −1.84, −3, −0.68, =0.002, =32%, for heterogeneity=0.11). However, only −1.6, −2.84, −0.36, =0.01). Mean BP baseline end did not predict (ACEI) induced changes PWV. Conclusions reduce markers patients different pathological conditions. due lack high quality properly powered RCTs, it is clear whether superior their stiffness. The ability ACEIs to seems be independent its BP.
