摘要: A millimetre wave antenna array, mounted on a space vehicle re-entering the Earth's atmosphere, encounters high density plasma around it. At power, field heats electrons nonuniformly. The electron temperature, Te, follows pattern, being maximum along direction of principal (z-axis) and falling off rapidly across ambipolar diffusion under pressure gradient force creates refractive index profile with z-axis, leading to self-convergence enhancement in effective gain antenna.
