Structure and dynamics of the solar wind/ionosphere interface on Mars: MEX-ASPERA-3 and MEX-MARSIS observations

摘要: [1] The measurements of the local plasma parameters ionospheric and solar wind plasmas magnetic field strength carried out by ASPERA-3 MARSIS experiments onboard Mars Express (MEX) in subsolar region induced Martian magnetosphere provide us with a first test pressure balance across wind/ionosphere interface. The structure this transition is very dynamic controlled wind. For broad range pressures, boundary layer raises to values just sufficient pressure. frozen into electrons transported magnetospheric (MB) where terminates planetary begins prevail. dense has sharp outer position which usually little closer planet than MB. Although number density reaches on ∼103 cm−3 contribution thermal rather small ionosphere magnetized. There are also cases when almost does not vary both boundaries.
