摘要: Abstract The biodegradation of DTDMAC (ditallowdimethylammonium chloride, a fabric softening agent) was established in semi-batch activated sludge reactors. Three 14 C-forms were studied separately under the simulated organic loading rates conventional and extended aeration treatment. Primary shown by means specific analytical technique combination with radiochemical procedures. Ultimate for each carbon position molecule detection CO 2 . Intermediate metabolites followed throughout study both radio thin-layer chromatography Each equally accessible to metabolism ultimate degradation acclimated microorganisms. Degradation occurred more rapidly conditions influenced strong tendency associate microbial population. low levels observed not single classification or characteristic they did persist sludge. This suggests that removal an plant is result sorption/precipitation mechanisms.
