摘要: Abstract The systolic ankle and arm blood pressure has been measured by Doppler ultrasound technique in 666 men women aged 60 yr. method was found suitable for use a population survey as the cost is low, measurements are rapid, painless can be well standardized. reproducibility 2.9 mm Hg, mean standard deviation of 10 ten persons. Decreased defined ratio between less than 90% at least one four leg arteries examined. or more present 16% 13% women. prevalence intermittent claudication 5.8% 1.3% Pulselessness two foot occurred 11.9% 8.8% According to all three criteria 2.3% were abnormal, 3.3% 1.0% 82% had no signs arteriostenosis. normal individuals on an average ankle/arm indices higher 100%. ankle/ related other arteriosclerosis: Angina pectoris, dyspnoea effort ECG ischemia. findings have used evaluation risk factors peripheral arteriosclerosis. values, age 50, pressure, serum cholesterol, triglyceride, smoking habits, heart rate male sex significantly associated with arteriostenosis index 60.
