摘要: A detailed simulation of Advanced LIGO test mass optical cavities shows that parametric instabilities will excite 7 acoustic modes in each fused silica mass, with gain $R$ up to and only 1 mode $R\ensuremath{\sim}2$ for alternative sapphire masses. Fine-tuning the radii curvature causes sweep through various as high $\ensuremath{\sim}2000$. Sapphire can be tuned completely eliminate using thermal $g$-factor tuning. In case minimized but not eliminated.
