摘要: PURPOSE: To verify the prevalence of signs and symptoms temporomandibular dysfunction in groups professional musicians, interpreters brass string instruments. METHODS: Ninety two with ages varying from 18 to 58 years, participated on study. Seventy musicians who played instruments (76.08%) 22 (23.91%) at Symphonic Orchestra Parana, Military Police Band or Army were interviewed. The interview included questions regarding identification, time practice, presence signs, habits related dysfunction. answers compared using difference proportions test. RESULTS: Thirty nine (42.3%) noticed teeth grinding and/or pressing, 23 (25%) reported feel pain joint, 39 (42%) hear noises 37 (40%) sensation auricular plenitude, 33 (35%) presented tinnitus. No significant was found between players CONCLUSION: sum factors puts certain musical as a group susceptible present disorder, including auditory symptoms. Therefore, practice these may be considered trigger, well an aggravating perpetuating factor previously existing problem.
