摘要: IBM recently implemented Optimizer, a system for flexible and optimal control of service levels spare parts inventory, in its US network support. It is based upon recent research multi-echelon inventory theory to address the network. The inherent complexity very large scale basic problem required develop suitable algorithms sophisticated data structures large-scale systems integration. Optimizer has greatly improved IBM's business. implementation made it possible make strategic changes configuration distribution resulted simultaneously reducing investment operating costs improving levels. Most important, however, proven be highly planning operational system.
