The cost care measured Per Member Month (PMPM) dollars by aggregating all diagnoses that corresponded the International Classification Diseases, 9th Edition, (ICD-9) codebook. To control differences burden each group, previously calculated score utilizing Symmetry Health Data Systems, Inc. Episode Risk Groups™ (ERGs) utilized DM, CAD CVD diagnosis groups within distinct including; (periodontitis gingivitis), maintenance (DMS), other services, no group. group means tested statistical significance using log-transformed values individual total paid amounts. condition who received periodontitis incurred significantly higher PMPM than gingivitis treatment, DMS, (p < .001). had lower scores two-year examination large company database revealed possible association costs. findings suggest (a presence periodontitis) has an impact on CVD). Additional studies are indicated examine this relationship is maintained after adjusting confounding factors such smoking SES.
