摘要: Governments are increasingly implementing emissions trading schemes, ostensibly to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Karine Matthews and Matthew Paterson argue that the drive implement is primarily driven by goal of supporting capital accumulation, rather than environmental considerations. This article ultimately agrees, but argues their approach not consistent with Marx’s labour theory value. The concept ‘carbon rent’ used develop a more understanding how state can use distribute income away from poor working class.
