Influence of land use on the performance of the WRF model in a humid tropical climate

摘要: This study evaluates the effect of land use update to meteorological simulations in Metropolitan Region Greater Vitoria (MRGV) using Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) mesoscale model. WRF performance was analyzed monitoring data like wind speed direction, temperature, sensible heat flux. In general, changes results with updating are quite subtle, these values better represented by local cold front period. The obtained indicate a slight improvement direction when is for airport station, where mean bias reduced from − 0.124 − 0.079, thereby capturing smaller urban centers canopy.
