摘要: In an earlier paper (1933) the writer drew attention to inadequacy of only existing description Uncinaria lucasi, given, under name sp., by Stiles & Hassall (1899). Through kindness Dr E. C. Dougherty, it has now been possible examine specimens from type-host U. lucasi (the Alaskan fur-seal, Callorhinus alascanus). These were collected V. B. Scheffer, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, small intestine a furseal pup at Polovina, St Paul Island (Pribylov group), in Bering Sea July 1945. There seems be no reasonable doubt that they are same species as those originally described Hassall, principal evidence being identity host locality, length spicules male worms. A new is therefore presented, which hoped will place on more satisfactory footing.
