摘要: Animals sense an enormous number of cues in their environments, and, over time, can form learned associations and memories with some these. The nervous system remarkably maintains the specificity learning memory to each cues. Here we asked whether nematode Caenorhabditis elegans adjusts temporal dynamics adaptation aversive depending on specific odor sensed. C. senses a multitude odors, many these odors requires activity cGMP-dependent protein kinase EGL-4 AWC sensory neuron. We identified panel 17 attractive which have not been tested before, determined that majority require primary neuron for sensation. then devised novel assay assess behavior time single population animals. used this evaluate 13 find change occurs early later others. examined localization early-trending late-trending time. found timing changes correlated nuclear accumulation suggesting may be mediated by mechanisms. demonstrate as model study formation different
