摘要: This paper discusses the history and present status of community forest certification as an illustration growing interactions between global local processes in governance. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) system is analyzed illustrative case trend towards increased incorporation community-based enterprises (CFEs) into international initiatives for sustainable management markets. First reviews development evolution enterprises. Next it main challenges opportunities making CFE accessible beneficial communities. Finally illustrates importance multi-level multi-actor partnerships creating effective interfaces standards forestry practices. experiences with FSC demonstrate that enlarging its scope from autonomous decision-making on practice to governance systems. experience also demonstrates application requires adaptation realities. These lessons are relevance further newly evolving programs conservation.
